Adding QR Codes to your Welcome Letter

I hope this email finds you all soaking up the summer sun! August is creeping up on the calendar and welcome letters are looming in our near future. Do you want to infuse technology in your welcome letter this year? Adding a QR code to your letter may be a great introduction of QR coding for students and further personalize letters with the caring, welcoming voice of their new teacher.

http://vocaroo.com/ is an online voice recorder that instantly gives you a url link to your recording and better yet a QR code to save and import into your letter. Need Step by Step directions?

Jeremy has a chromebook cart available for teachers to signout for the summer in the teacher’s room. These chromebooks have a built-in camera and microphone if your home computer does not. A pop-up may appear, click “allow microphone” to proceed with recording. After researching this idea, I found an example of a teacher reading a full letter. I think I may just record a short welcoming message but this might be great for the younger grades! If you want to give it a “go” and need help, please let me know. I can help over email, phone or meet you at school to help! Okay, now go back to summer mode… Sincerely, Faith
